| City or Portland Green Building Program - The City of Portland provides a wealth of information as well as a phone hotline to help people make wise decisions about reducing their home's energy footprint. Ecohaus - Formerly known as Environmental Building Supply, this store sells ecologically friendly building products including paint, flooring, kitchen and bath units, and more. They were also the hosts for the Green building Tour in Portland. Habitat for Humanity Re-store - The Habitat re-store takes donated used building materials and sells them at discouned prices to people who want to use less expensive and/or less energy-intensive building products. Passive Solar Design - A page providing an overview and discussion around passive solar building design. Radiant Barrier fact sheet - An information resource about what radiant barriers are and how to install them.The Rebuilding Center - A wonderful store which accepts donations of building materials from houses about to be demolished. The boards, sinks, cabinets, windows, etc are then re-used by people who want to save money and/or resources. Tiny House forum - A discussion group for people interested in tiny house living.Tumbleweed Tiny Homes - This company's designs were the inspiration for my project. They create homes for people ranging from 80 square feet minimalist houses to 400 square feet buidings that are only a little smaller than some standard houses. Not only are they energy efficient, but the designs are quite beautiful. |
